Night at Murphy’s: What a wonderful night in Murphy's Bar again last Friday night at our pre-Christmas gathering as we were once again royally treated by Sean Murphy and his staff. Along with the usual presentations we were also delighted to present Sean a special piece of commemorative slate to mark the 70th Anniversary celebrations for the Bar this year. As well as picking up our Singles Matchplay Cup and the Ian O'Leary Memorial Club Strokeplay Shield for his double earlier this year, James Foley was also honoured on the night with the Dan O'Leary Memorial Shield as our 2025 Club Person of the Year for his efforts on and off the course this year. Well done to James on amazing year for himself in so many ways! Christmas Turkeys: We were thankful of getting two rounds in on Sunday despite the weather forecast as the players that took part certainly felt the effects of the conditions! Week 6 Results- Scotch Foursomes V Par- First Nett: Hugh O'Sullivan & Niall O'Loughlin 9up (B9), Gross: John McGrath & James Foley 5up and Second Nett: Sean O'Brien & Aidan O'Keeffe 9up. We will have one final round of Turkeys this Sunday at the usual times. Doubles Matchplay: Our Doubles Matchplay (sponsored by Utility Trust) Final with see the pairing of Brian McCarthy & Conor O'Riordan face Bobby Kelly & Sean O'Brien in the decider which will be played on Sunday December 28th. St Stephens Day: Our traditional 18-hole Three Ball Scramble will once again take place on December 26th this year at 10am. Entry €5 per player. Draws over the festive period will be confirmed as the days progress. AGM: Our 2026 AGM will take place on Wednesday January 14th. Further information will be sent to members in due course.
